20.06.2024 - Our Call for Compassion – HIAS+JCORE's election manifesto

Dear supporter,

Today we’re celebrating World Refugee Day – and to mark the occasion, we’re launching HIAS+JCORE’s 2024 General Election manifesto: ‘Our Call for Compassion’.

Within it, we outline our vision for a UK where refugees and asylum seekers can flourish, and which is welcoming and inclusive – ensuring that displaced people feel part of our country, not excluded from it.

Led both by our Jewish values, and the experiences of young people on our JUMP befriending programme, we’ve identified three key policy priorities for the next government:

Tackling the housing crisis for refugees.
Reversing legal aid cuts.
Ending cruel, pseudoscientific age assessments.

It’s crucial that your local candidates hear a strong Jewish voice for the fairer, more compassionate asylum system we desperately need – so please share our manifesto with them, use it to ask questions at your local hustings and spread the word within your networks.
