13.12.2023 - You're invited! Refugee Shabbat 2024

Dear supporter,

We’re so grateful to everyone who’s supported our 2023 Chanukah appeal so far – with your help, we’ll continue advocating for the compassionate, welcoming Britain we know.

We’re running the appeal until this Friday: so if you’re passionate about ensuring there’s a strong, Jewish voice for refugee rights and social cohesion, please click here to donate.

Want to hear more about what we can do with your support? Click the links to watch videos from myself and HIAS+JCORE’s Deputy Director Amos Schonfield, outlining what we’ve got lined up – and read on below to find out about some exciting events planned for the coming months.

Refugee Shabbat 2024

We’ve got some really exciting activities lined up for 2024 – and in just six weeks’ time, will be joining Jewish communities around the world for Refugee Shabbat (2nd to 3rd February).

Now on its sixth year, Refugee Shabbat is a great way to express solidarity, and join the global Jewish movement for refugee protection and welcome.

We’ll be announcing details of our events soon, so make sure you save the date! If your synagogue or group would be interested in getting involved, please be in touch to find out more.

Heading to Limmud?

Limmud 2023 is less than a fortnight away – and we’ve got some great sessions lined up for this year’s festival!

Join our Executive Director David Mason on Sunday 24th December for ‘Building a Jewish movement supporting refugees and fighting racism‘, and a panel event on Monday 25th, considering how we as Jews can envision a positive role for ourselves as a minority in the UK, and foster connections with other minority groups.

Thank you for your continued support, and wishing you and your families Chag Chanukah Sameach.

David, Amos, and the Team

PS. Are you a whizz with numbers – or know someone who is? We’re recruiting for a Freelance Finance Manager (8 hours per-week, £35,000 pro-rata). Click here for more details and how to apply.
