JUMP’s annual beach trip: a day of fun and friendship in Brighton
Sep 20, 2024
Last weekend more than 20 young people and adult befrienders from JUMP swapped the capital for the seaside, embarking on a great day out together in Brighton. The annual trip is always a highlight in JUMP’s calendar and this year was no different.
The group kicked off the day exploring Brighton’s vibrant Laines, wandering through the colourful narrow streets and enjoying the late summer sunshine. No trip to Brighton is of course complete without a stop at the pier, where we visited the restaurant for a delicious fish and chips lunch, before trying our luck in the amusements.
These activities are a key part of what we do on the project. Organised through our JUMP community, they give our young people a safe space to meet peers, and make new friends. Most importantly, they allow our participants just to have fun and enjoy themselves – a spirit of adventure fully embraced by those who braved a refreshing dip in the sea!
At JUMP, we know that our young people have to overcome many barriers and challenges. Such trips play a hugely important role in giving our participants a chance to relax, away from the stresses of daily life.
With happy memories made and new friendships formed, we’re already excited to be planning our next trip. Want to get involved? Sign up to volunteer with JUMP, and become part of our amazing community.
